Barrera Giorgio
(Cagliari, 1969)

Once completed his studies and after a period of cooperation with Joel Meyerowitz, he gets interested in sociology, focusing his research on the daily habits of the domestic life, on  “street photography” and  landscape.

He teaches photography at the Marangoni Foundation in Florence and received important prizes, such as  Baume & Mercier, Canon, FNAC and published  books and catalogues both in Italy and abroad.

Among his most important exhibitions and participations: The sidewalk never ends by the Art Institute on Chicago (2001), Biennale Internazionale di Fotografia in Torino (1999), Festival Internazionale di Fotografia in Plovdiv (2002),  Rencontres Internationales de la Photographie in Arles (2003 e 2006),  Festival Internazionale di Fotografia in Roma and the Rassegna Fotografia Europea in Reggio Emilia (2007).
