Battaglia Nunzio
Nunzio Battaglia (Gela - Sicily 1958). 
He received his degree in architecture in Palermo and turned to photography. He moved to Milan and focused on artistic expression and photography. Since 1993 he has been working exclusively with photography, traveling to the Mediterranean basin, and investigating the spatial metamorphosis of important European metropolises. His photographs have been bought by university structures  and public collections: CSAC in Parma, CCE in Montreal, Provincial Pinacoteca of Bari, DISPA (Department of History and Architectural Projects) in Palermo, MAXXI (National Museum oh 21st Century Art) in Rome, Alinari 24 ORE in Firenze.
In 2003 he participated in the consultation on invitation for was Atlante Italiano 003, organized by the General Direction  for architecture and contemporary art and by the Ministry for Cultural Assets and Activities, winning third prize. In his second tirp to America his themes were the parks and the current perception of wilderness.
He travelled in Tibet and Nepal (2004), concentrating on the spiritual nature of space, and in China and Yunnan (2005-2006) where he focused on the great transformation in landscape and culture.
In 2007 he became an adjunct professor for Landscape and Photography in the department of architecture of the University of Palermo. He continued his research in the East with a trip to Japan (2007) and to India (2008).
Currently he is working on Losing Photography, a project soon to be published, and on Seasons, dealing with inner landscapes and representations of time; continuing in 2010 with Earth and Heart.
